First visit with doula

Minkz and I had our first visit with our doula yesterday. It was good to start thinking and talking about our preferences for labor and post-delivery. There were several things that I hadn't considered such as whether I want to wear a hospital gown or my own clothing during labor and whether I want to touch/see the baby's head when it shows. We also discussed my feelings about pain medication by using a pain medication preference scale. Another thing to decide is whether we want the baby to have any bottle feeding in the hospital or not. Finally, we watched a dvd together of many women going through contractions and pushing babies out. It gave us a glimpse of what the experience might be like.
