Penny's Jr First Lego League expo!

Penny was invited to be part of a lego club by a neighbor and fellow first grader's family.  At first I don't think we understood what an organized project this would be.  Coach Z, the father who invited us, was so good at guiding the kids through research and practice presenting.  By the end of the session, they had a full recycling plant made of legos (because the theme this year was "waste wise") with moving parts controlled by software and a poster board about themselves and their project.  I think they learned the power of teamwork and were proud of their accomplishment.

Another one of the parents made this video about the expo day

Reunion for Penny's birthday

We have been blessed with a visit from out-of-town relatives around Penny's birthday in March for many years now.  Originally, they would help with the big parties we threw for her.  Now, we have scaled back on the parties, but grandma bakes something special and the cousins have a great time together.  Here are some pics from this year's visit.
