Epi-doula

Birth doulas are individuals trained to coach/support women through labor. They come to your house to help you through the beginning stages of labor and stay with you throughout the process. They are trained and certified and can help to ease anxiety/pain, prevent epidural/c-section, and make for a better birth experience for all. The only problem? They are expensive! costing from $500-$1000 and up! If we are lucky, we will find a doula in training that will offer a discount or volunteer to attend our birth... If not, what are we gonna dou-la?

*update: There is hope! I have been referred to several doulas willing to work for less and will begin interviewing them right away to try and find a good match.
