My first Mother's Day was today. Being a mom is empowering and makes me feel like I am a part of a greater force. I never truly understood all that moms do until I stepped into the role myself and now it is weird to think about what life would be like if I weren't a mom. I can appreciate and respect what my mother has done for me, thus bringing me closer to her and all moms. From labor, to breast-feeding, to sleepless nights, and much more, being a mom is like a never-ending gift of yourself to your child. The reward is a new meaning in life, seeing your beautiful creation grow and develop into a little person and continue the cycle.
