The kids enjoyed a lot of free time, but I did sign them up for some camps, too. I couldn't justify paying for too much camp, but with the Tuesday/Thursday option, through the city, it allowed for just the right amount of structure while leaving some unstructured time for "mom-led adventures". So far, we have gone camping at a friend's ranch, we went to Truckee, to the county fair, to the water park, miniature golfed , and had playdates with friends. We also had our annual trip to San Diego Comic-Con.
